Chỉ mỗi loài, mỗi người đều có điểm mạnh và điểm yếu riêng: gặp đúng môi trường, điều kiện thì phát huy được sở trường, còn vướng vào điều mình ham muốn hoặc bất lợi thì dễ gặp tai hoạ. Thường dùng để nói về sự hơn thua tùy hoàn cảnh và sự nguy hiểm của lòng tham, sự sơ hở.

Each creature or person has its own strengths and vulnerabilities: in the right conditions, one thrives, but when lured by desire or trapped in unfavorable circumstances, one may come to harm. It is used to comment on how advantage depends on context and how greed or carelessness can lead to disaster.
